The Legal Services Team at Horsfield & Smith

Horsfield & Smith acts for a number of legal firms of varying size and complexity. We have a wealth of experience and technical knowledge to meet the needs of most professional practices. The partner with specialist knowledge of solicitors' practices is Peter Nicol, supported by managers Nigel Roberts and Wendy Greensitt-Black, while barristers are supported by Stephen Collier, our resident tax partner. The team prides itself on proactive advice to clients, regular communication and a close working relationship with its clients.

National representation

The firm is a member of a Special Interest Group within the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales which co-ordinates and develops accountancy services for the legal profession. Our experience with businesses in general enable us to provide commercial advice to solicitors who, understandably, are often too busy looking after their clients rather than maximising their profits - it's not a dirty word!. We find that the discipline of regular, if only annual, meetings gives our clients the opportunity to reflect on their own business performance.

Seminars

We have regular informal lunches at which we discuss topics of current relevance. This is also an opportunity for our guests to raise their concerns, which we do our best to answer.
