In a display of team spirit and dedication, staff at Horsfield & Smith participated in the Bury 10k to raise funds for the Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary.
The fundraising for Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary event was a success, with our efforts contributing an impressive £1,600 to support the sanctuary. This fundraising initiative helped alleviate the sanctuary’s financial strain, especially with their soaring monthly vet bills.
Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary’s financial needs
Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary, based in Edenfield, is home to many animals, from dogs and cats to horses, goats, and pigs. These animals are either ready for rehoming or live out their lives at the sanctuary. However, as Soap and Strictly star Gemma Atkinson, President of Bleakholt, highlighted, the sanctuary faces a significant challenge due to the high cost of veterinary care. In fact, Bleakholt’s monthly vet bills total £21,000, making fundraising efforts like ours more crucial than ever.
Soap and Strictly star, Gemma Atkinson, shared her appreciation, saying: “As President of Bleakholt, I am proud of everyone who raises funds to help the animals at our superb sanctuary”.
“Our monthly vet bills are high to support our dogs, cats and small animals who are ready to be re-homed while we make sure our horses, goats, donkeys, pigs, among others, live a happy life with us”.
“Every time someone does something to help the sanctuary, it makes a difference and so Horsfield & Smith’s efforts will certainly help us”.
