Re: Local Accountancy Firm Joins Forces with Age UK Bury

Bury accountancy firm, Horsfield & Smith, are delighted to support Age UK Bury as their Charity of the Year for 2020.

Age UK Bury is an independent charity. The trustees are local older people who are passionate about making a difference for the elderly population in Bury – the charity supports older people, their families and carers and wants everyone in the area to be able to love later life.

They are based at the Jubilee Centre and have charity shops in Bury and Ramsbottom – the charity relies on donations from the public, income from their charity shops and the Jubilee Centre, grants and a contract from Bury Council to support their ‘Friends Together’ service.

Situated next to Clarence Park, the Jubilee Centre offers an exciting programme of activities for people aged 50 and over. Some of the activities include art, exercise to music, Pilates, Tai Chai, and Yoga.

Jane Hawarden, Marketing Manager at Horsfield & Smith, commented: “With a growing ageing population, many of our older generation in the Bury area are struggling more than ever. We are proud to support this fabulous charity by working with them as our Charity of the Year for 2020. Keep your eyes peeled for forthcoming fundraising activities in the area”.

Andy Hazeldine, Chief Officer of Age UK Bury, commented: “We are delighted that Horsfield & Smith, a leading local business, are supporting our charity to help older people living in the borough of Bury. We look forward to working with the directors and staff through the year and we are really grateful for their support.”
