A few of the Horsfield & Smith team recently travelled to London to attend the two day Xerocon at ExCel – namely, the Glastonbury for Accountants!

Event Recap
We heard from keynote speakers: Xero’s CEO, Steve Amos and Managing Director for Xero UK and EMEA, Gary Turner, who addressed the audience with their insights into this year’s theme which was “communities for purpose”. In addition, improving cash flow was discussed with a new cash forecasting tool for 2020 that will predict a company’s cash position for the next 30 days.

With so many changes to the industry from AI learning and government regulations, they stressed the importance for everyone to work together and support communities.

Walking around the huge Exhibition Hall, we listened to engaging panels and attended breakout sessions. We learnt more about how we can help our clients manage their data by providing insights behind the numbers and working more collaboratively with them as their trusted adviser – this in turn will help our clients to be more successful.

The Xerocon party was a fabulous fairground theme, with dodgem rides, a carousel, helter-skelter, street food, karaoke and much more – there was such a fantastic buzz in the room with people from various accountancy firms socialising and enjoying the free bar!

With Xero continually developing and improving its products for small businesses, we are able to offer our clients smarter and better ways to manage their financial data securely in the cloud where they have instant access to real time information, that will enable them to streamline processes and improve profitability.

That’s a wrap – we can’t wait until Xerocon 2020!
